Our story
Drawing inspiration from the simple, rugged beauty of Montana and the rich heritage of rodeo and ranching ingrained in our family for generations, our purses embody a fusion of strength and femininity. Just like our customers, they exude a tough yet wildly feminine vibe. BAR3BAGS is committed to being authentically Western with every piece we create. We prioritize understated elegance and refined simplicity in each design. The BAR3 horse brand has been a part of our family for four generations. It seemed only fitting that our leatherwork should find its home under that brand.
My journey began years ago when I couldn’t find a high-end purse that was authentically western. Even the purses that were advertised as high-end weren’t even being made in this country. Every store or website I visited seemed to dilute western design with touristy gimmicks. Fortunately, my husband, a seasoned leather craftsman, patiently taught me the art of exquisite leather craftsmanship. With his guidance, I set out to create my ideal purse. I wanted to create something that said at one glance, “This is the REAL DEAL”. It didn’t take long before my purses were getting noticed and women were stopping me everywhere I went asking me where I found my purse. From there, BAR3BAGS naturally evolved.

The Leather Shop
Having our leather shop based in our home in Montana allows us to design and create whenever inspiration strikes. Coming from a rodeo family, we’re deeply immersed in the culture we cater to, ensuring our designs perfectly reflect the rodeo and ranch aesthetic.
My favorite thing to do is pick out new hides of leather. Fortunately, we have lots of space for leather storage so we can buy hides when we find them even if we don’t get to use them for several months. This is the bench where all of our leather is cut out.
